Nevada First to Use Electronic Voting with Printers
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Nevada on Friday said it would be the first U.S. state to use voting machines that will leave a paper trail, the first large-scale response to concerns that a paperless system could lead to ballot fraud.
(snip)
The printer is mounted beside the touch screen and displays the voter's selections behind glass so that no one can touch or change the paper record.
After voters confirm the selections on the paper are correct, they will be prompted to officially cast their ballot. Once the ballot is cast, the paper record is scrolled inside the machine and kept as a record.

__________
At first glance, this sounds like a good plan to me. It allows voters to see on paper that their vote was recorded accurately and allows for recounts if there are any questions about accuracy. Of course, nothing is 100% tamper free.
