Kind of a just-outta-curiosity question: If you voted for JRE today...why? I usually don't believe in such a thing as a "wasted" vote, but it's (almost) literally impossible for Edwards to become president this time around, seeing as he's withdrawn from the race. So take my poll...
(Some tasty visuals after the jump!)
Obama's picked up endorsements from electeds at a steady clip these past few weeks, but yesterday he recieved what is, to me (and, I suspect, a lot of my fellow dKosers) one of the most important endorsements of the cycle...
Obviously, this is premature, but ex-Sen. Bill Bradley's (D-NJ) endorsement of Obama this morning struck the thought in me -- wouldn't Bradley just be the perfect running mate for our boy Barack? The case for (and against) Obama/Bradley '08 after the jump:

Jon Chait flags an item in the Wall Street Journal about the Obama fundraising machine, or lack thereof:
Teaneck, N.J., lawyer Al DeCotiis says he and a few other Democratic boosters decided a year ago to select one presidential candidate for whom to raise money in the state. The group personally interviewed most of the major candidates, but couldn't get Mr. Obama. "We must have put in five or six calls," Mr. DeCotiis recalls. "For whatever reason, he didn't respond. Then we met with Hillary and we decided to endorse her and work aggressively for her presidency."

Jeremy has the first of what looks to be a landmark series of posts on the use of the term "fascist" in modern political discourse. He makes the most compelling argument I've seen for applying the term liberally. You should read the whole thing. If you don't, you're a fascist. (No, you're not.) But I want to add one thing to Jeremy's points.
N.B.: Prepare yourself for some decidedly gloomy analysis.

One of Eschaton's regulars, smalfish, is in a major spot of difficulty:
I had no idea what kind of bullshit was lurking untill yesterday when a local news reporter wanted to interview me because my house had just been sold without my knowledge.Needless to say I was floored.
For 1000 dollars and some change my homeowners association has thrown me and my family under the bus,and its going to take some serious running to get out from under it.

Few things make for great liberal bedtime reading like Jon Chait's classic TNR column in defense of Bush hatred.
Just got back from hearing Howard Dean talk about the media. He made a lot of points that I agree with (re-regulate ownership, back away from news-as-entertainment, encourage blogs, etc.), unsurprisingly. More importantly, if by "importantly" you mean "relevant to the latest story caught in the blogosphere's teeth," he revealed his latest thinking about running for the chair of the DNC. Here's a few tidbits:
Over at my blog, Bulldog Blue, I've started a little project called the John Kerry Seven Minute Deathwatch. You can read more here, but the concept is essentially this: I want to compile a list of all the people/creatures who would be dead today if John Kerry had waited seven minutes, instead of acting decisively.
So far I have Jim Rassmann, Chic Hecht, and Vanessa Kerry's hamster. Anyone else I can add? I'm open to liberal interpretations of the guidelines.
I hope the Kos community can help me remind everyone what a decisive, leadership-providing guy John Kerry is.
You can find it at http://www.bulldogblue.com
Thanks!
Thanks in advance!
So, what are the chances of change? Can anyone more familiar with NY politics point me to some possible challengers that are taking on incumbent assemblymen or senators this cycle? What are the battles to watch? Which legislators won't have much of a fight on their hands?
Thanks in advance!

Ezra delivers some pretty appalling news (via TIME):
Administration sources tell TIME that employees at the Department of Homeland Security have been asked to keep their eyes open for opportunities to pose the President in settings that might highlight the Administration's efforts to make the nation safer. The goal, they are being told, is to provide Bush with one homeland-security photo-op a month.
